متن کاملMeasurement of Cue-Induced Craving in Human Methamphetamine- Dependent Subjects New Methodological Hopes for Reliable Assessment of Treatment Efficacy
Methamphetamine (MA) is a highly addictive psychostimulant drug with crucial impacts on individuals on various levels. Exposure to methamphetamine-associated cues in laboratory can elicit measureable craving and autonomic reactivity in most individuals with methamphetamine dependence and the cue reactivity can model how craving would result in continued drug seeking behaviors and relapse in rea...

Objectives: The aim of this study was to provide a visual task for the evaluation of craving in opiate abusers, by implementing visual cues inducing craving. Method: 175 opiate abusers who had presented to the National Center for Addiction Studies in Iran in eleven months of the years 1385 and 1386 participated in the study. The subjects were divided into five groups (heroin injecting, heroin s...
متن کاملRepeated Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) on Methamphetamine Craving: a Randomized, Sham-Controlled Study
modulation of dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) activity using non-invasive brain stimulation, such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), enhanced the prospects of substance use disorders rehabilitation. Methods: we carried out a randomized sham-controlled clinical trial to assess the effect of repeated tDCS at DLPFC on drug craving in 30 abstinent male methamphetamine users. ...
متن کاملDirect and Indirect Measures of Attention Indicate a Bias Toward Cues in Methamphetamine Users
Introduction:This study aims to investigate the attentional bias toward drug-related stimuli along with subjective craving after encountering such stimuli in methamphetamine users. Studies of cue reactivity have confirmed bias in attention and gaze to drug-related stimuli for most substances, but methamphetamine drugs are less studied by a direct measure such as eye tracking. Methods:Thirty ma...
